Artist Collaboration

Artist's Statement
My work is a constant evolution of technique, vision and mood, informed by the lense of new experiences. Each body of work is a culmination of prior exhibitions and the refining of techniques, affording me the ability to explore new directions and themes.
Collage has long formed a basis of my work and I whilst I continue to source material from advertising and popular culture media, I layer with my own photographic records. My landscapes are abundant with observations; of the graffiti which pervades Melbourne’s energetic inner urban environments, to images gleaned from extensive travel.
Composition is paramount to the success of interpreting my chaotic and opulent visions. The rhythm of an image allows the eye to travel around a painting, registering fragments, whilst reading the image in its entirety.
Glimpses of private worlds fascinate me, and I enjoy being an observer and commentator of popular culture in all its excesses and hedonism, its beauty and its ugliness. I wish for my work to evoke an emotional response from the audience through the scenarios and narratives I have created, and inspire them to interpret and enhance the stories themselves.
